With May behind us we can see that rates have slowed down when compared to last year's spike in [price per square foot](https://www.radiusplus.com/keyword/price per square foot). The average [price per square foot](https://www.radiusplus.com/keyword/price per square foot) from May 1st to May 18th 2021 was $1.71 while the average [price per square foot](https://www.radiusplus.com/keyword/price per square foot) for the same date range in 2022 was $1.80. This was only a 5.5% increase when comparing [year over year](https://www.radiusplus.com/keyword/year over year), the lowest increase in the same month from 2021 to 2022 we’ve seen so far this year.
